FAQ

High-risk acquiring FAQ

What is a high-risk merchant?

A business that banks classify as higher risk because of chargeback rates, regulatory requirements or reputational factors: gambling, betting, adult, nutra, crypto, forex, dating, subscription services. Such projects are often declined by traditional acquiring.

Why does a high-risk project need a dedicated payment provider?

Acquiring banks restrict MCC categories, hold rolling reserves and close accounts when chargebacks rise. A high-risk provider works with several acquirers at once, spreads traffic and reduces dependence on a single bank.

How does UTOPAY increase approval rates?

Smart routing sends each transaction to the acquirer most likely to approve it for the given country, BIN and amount, and a decline can be retried through a fallback route.

Can I receive settlement in crypto?

Yes. Card and local-method payments are converted and settled in USDC to your wallet, or accumulated on an internal balance for batch withdrawals.

How much does onboarding cost?

Sign-up and a test key are free. The base fee is 4.5% per payment including processing; rates for large volumes are negotiated individually.
