High-risk payments

High-risk merchant account? There is a faster way

Banks make high-risk businesses wait weeks, hold rolling reserves and close accounts without warning. UTOPAY lets you accept cards, Apple Pay, PayPal and crypto through licensed payment partners and get paid to your own wallet — starting today.

In short

UTOPAY is not a bank merchant account. Instead of a MID with an acquiring bank, your customers pay through licensed payment partners (card, Apple Pay, PayPal, Revolut and local methods) and every payment is converted to USDC and sent to your own wallet. There is no underwriting queue, no rolling reserve and no chargeback claw-back from you. Fee: 4.5% all-in for card and wallet payments, 1.5% for crypto.

Why high-risk merchant accounts are hard to get

Acquiring banks label a business high-risk when its industry has high chargeback or fraud rates, regulatory complexity or reputational exposure — online gambling and betting, adult content, nutraceuticals, CBD and vape, dating, crypto, forex and prop trading, VPN and software, subscriptions and info products.

The result is familiar: weeks of underwriting, piles of documents, 5–10% of revenue held as a rolling reserve for months, high per-transaction and chargeback fees — and the constant risk that the account is frozen or terminated after a spike in disputes.

How UTOPAY works instead

  1. You create a payment — by API, a payment link or without an account, with just your wallet address.
  2. Your customer pays by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Revolut or a local method on the checkout of a licensed payment partner.
  3. The partner converts the payment to USDC on Polygon and it is split on-chain: your share goes straight to your wallet, usually within minutes.
  4. Customers who prefer crypto pay in USDT, ETH, BNB and other tokens through the crypto gateway — from any country.

Who it fits — and who it does not

  • Fits: online businesses in high-risk verticals that want to accept cards and crypto quickly and are comfortable receiving stablecoins.
  • Fits: merchants who were declined, frozen or terminated by a bank or a payment processor and need a working checkout now.
  • Does not fit: businesses that need fiat settled to a bank account by their acquirer, card-on-file recurring billing, or a MID in their own name.
  • Payment partners keep their own acceptable-use rules and may ask a buyer for a quick one-time check on a first card payment. Illegal products and services are not accepted.
